Serene Tropical Coast Adventure

Malindi’s ancient history, authentic cultural and epic architectural and location puts it in a limelight of sundry interests. However, it is the diversity of holiday making choices that gives Malindi its definitive identity – the tropical paradise’. Malindi marine national park is located four kilometers from the town centre. Following the sign posts, drive through the beautifully hedged, villas, resorts and mansion tangled finely amidst indigenous flora and the last left turn takes you straight to Marine Park. 

Day : 1 Salndenya Fish Barbeque and Boat Expedition) 

Fly directly to Malindi Airport or from Mombasa, drive north through the vast coconut and sisal plantations as you sample the most of the coastal vegetation, mangroves and remnants of the coastal forest. You arrive in Malindi mid morning (after a roughly 2 hours drive from Mombasa) and head straight to Malindi Marine national park. Guest residing at Malindi or Watamu hotels will be picked from their hotels at the very convenient tidal times while guests from Mombasa drive back in the evening.

The expedition
Salndenya fish barbeque and boat expedition takes off from Malindi marine park Casuarina gate. Here you sample the Africa’s oldest marine park. The implausible coral gardens are thrilled with hundreds of fish species, corals, sea grass, anemones and occasional turtles. Snorkeling at the coral garden will present to you an astoundingly multihued under-water world. 

After ‘the explore’, you proceed to Salndenya, a feathery endless tidal island and lagoon. Salndenya (also called Mayungu) is the epic of any Kenyan coast holiday itinerary. Here you will be served with assorted coastal and continental cuisine to your fill with barbequed sea fish and other fresh sea foods. 
You can take part in barbequing or snorkel, swim or just relax on the white sun baked sand of tidal 
Salndenya as you wait for lunch to be served. 

You will enjoy lunch at the portable dinning set strategically placed on the white washed sand of magical islands while the endless sparkling blue-sea soothes you with its alluring breeze. After fulfilled moment, you proceed to Casuarina gate and then back to the hotel for the night.

Day 2: Explore Gedi Ruins and Arabuko Sokoke Forest

Tucked a few miles from the Indian Ocean beaches, Arabuko sokoke forest prides itself as the only remnant of coastal rainforest in the entire coastal stretch from gulf of Africa to the mouth of Limpopo River. The atmosphere alone is enough thrills for any visitor. The micro climate around this area makes the forest the most ideal place for active adventure right at the coast. From an adventurous walk through the forest, you will then head to Gedi Ruins, a ancient town that is believed to have been built at around 13th or 14th to 17th centuries. Its fascinating history and artistic architectural design is just awe-inspiring. You will also have an opportunity to visit Mida Creek and Butterfly farm which are a few metres away. 

Day 3: Nairobi/Mombasa

You leave Malindi for Nairobi or have overnight exploring Mombasa attractions such as Beaches, Forte Jesus and Old town. With time, you can also visit Haller Park and the Port.
