The museum was founded in the year 1910-1911 by persons interested in nature in British Africa. The group included church missionary society.Rev.Harry Leakey and Rev.Kenneth, St.Aubyn Rogers, C.W Hobley & John Ainsworth, doctors, dentists, big game hunters and plantation owners. In 1911, Aladina visram put up the money for one story building for the library with an honorary curator. The museum is open on all 356 days throughout the year from 08:30hrs -17:30hrs
